International Historical Research Associates (IHRA)

International Historical Research Associates (IHRA) was founded by Lawrence J. Hickey, to definitively document and preserve the legacy of the air war in the Pacific during World War II. The Eagles Over The Pacific book series includes six hardcover books. During 2022, Pacific Wrecks took over the distribution of IHRA books to make them available to new audiences.

The Eagles Over The Pacific book series are the definitive hardcover history of Fifth Air Force (5th AF) units in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA) including Warpath Across The Pacific about the 345th Bomb Group (345th BG) “Air Apaches”, Revenge of the Red Raiders about the 22nd Bombardment Group (22nd BG) “Red Raiders”, Rampage of the Roarin’ 20’s about the 312th Bombardment Group (312th BG) “Roarin’ 20’s”, Ken’s Men Against The Empire Volume I and Ken’s Men Against The Empire Volume II about the 43rd Bombardment Group (43rd BG) “Ken’s Men” and Rampage of the Grim Reapers Volume I about the 3rd Bombardment Group (3rd BG) “Grim Reapers”.

Each volume draws from decades of research into U.S. Army Air Force (USAAF) bombardment groups that flew the B-25 Mitchell, A-20 Havoc, A-24 Dive Bomber, A-26 Invader, B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and B-26 Marauder and B-32 Dominator during the WWII air campaigns in the South West Pacific Area (SWPA). As much as possible these include the representative experiences of the airmen, sailors, and civilians on the Japanese side woven together in the accounts of the American and Australian airmen that fought against them.
